Thank you to all who volunteered at JDay 2008 during our annual fund-raiser. It turns out that Italian Ice sells pretty well when the humidity is 80%+ and the temperature outside is in the mid-80s. We made a decent profit ($100+, but has yet to be finalized) which we will put toward activities next year.
Finally, there are still positions open for the trip to see Open Heart Surgery on June 20th, after school has ended. We can take about 5 more and the event is at INOVA Fairfax Hospital as it was last year. Pictures from last year’s trip can be found on the Powerpoint below, amongst other things from 2007-2008. Please email tjmedicalsociety@gmail.com if you are interested.

This club looks like it does a lot of neat stuff and I am interested in attending some meetings next year, especially to see the guest speakers.

I thoroughly enjoy the selection of activities which are offered by TJ Medical Society, though I am often restricted by my commitment to MUN. Are there restrictions on who can attend the upcoming trip to see open heart surgery? I’d be quite interested in attending, as I heard it was a thoroughly educational experience last year.

I hope those Italian ices I bought helped. It sounds interesting and I might follow Kevin and attend some meetings next year.

First, I would like to say that the Italian Ice was marvelous and a perfect remedy to the scorching J-Day heat. Secondly, although I did not attend last years viewing through MedSoc, I have had the opportunity to witness an open-heart surgery first-hand, and I can honestly say that it was absolutely absorbing and inspirational. Finally, Dr.Uston is the best teacher I have ever had, and Sid is the man.

Yup, I wholeheartedly agree. I’ve learned so much from this club, although I regret that I am now more busy and have my hands full with other commitments. Oh well… is a schedule change possible for Medical Society? If so, I’d like to maintain my attendance. Thanks! GO CELTICS!
